Panasonic 3D P2 Camera!



Somehow I missed this on the floor at NAB. Supposedly this camera was being shown in concept mode at the Panasonic booth.

As you can see, its basically a HPX170 with a 3D lens. The lens looks very similar to the Canon XL1 3D lens that was shown at NAB 2001 but I dont think it was ever released (?)


The other big future news here is that Panasonic has announced the development of the next AVC codec to be dubbed AVC-Ultra. Aside from being able to record Stereo 3D footage, it can record up to 200Mb/s to P2 cards and can work in 1080/60P with 4:2:2/10bit and 2K/24p with 4:4:4/12bit (!)
