thats the word on the street from both RED (see RED User announcement here) and from insiders at Adobe.
This appears to be a plug-in importer developed by RED and not an Adobe Premiere update. (sorta like the FCP Log & Transfer RED plug-in)
This is big news in the RED/NLE scene... as up until now, only FCP has had support for RED footage, albeit via the QT proxies and still no COLOR support. (not counting, of course, Assimilate Scratch, which offers a native finishing solution for R3D files)
with this importer, the Adobe/XENA 2K/KONA 3 workflow will be an excellent option for RED post production. Word is that the importer will be Mac & PC ready when it becomes available.
